This is the area where we will keep you informed about the availability of marine live stock. At AquaTouch our fish are kept in our quarantine facility for at least 14 days before they are brought out for sale (See our Live Stock Policy for more information.) The listing below is just a sample of what is available. Come by and take a look at our wide inventory of corals, salt water fish and invertebrates. CORALS
Australian Corals! May, 2007Our first shipment has arrived from the central East coast of Australia. This is a new supplier in the ornamental industry. They are working out both shipping logistics and CITIES procedures so we expect limited availability through the rest of this year. As is the case with Australian fish, these corals exhibit vibrant colors and patterns, great sizes, and species unique to Australian waters.
Duncanopsammia axifuga is a hearty stony coral from Western Australia collected in moderately deep water. The large, bright green polyps take good sized pieces of frozen food.
Other species we have seen so far include Scolymia australis, Lobophyllia robusta, Symphyllia valanciennesii, and Turbinaria mesenterina. June, 2007. Second Australian coral shipment arrives. Beautiful cherry red zoanthids with purple centers.
Additional specimens include Acanthastrea rotoflora, Echinophyllia species, Scolymia australis, Gonaiastrea australensis and Favia species.
Moseleya latistellata was a particularly exciting coral to receive. It is found in muddy, turbid waters and can be exposed at low tide. It is uncommon along the northern coast of Australia. The coral displays shades of pinkish brown and green under a mix of blue and white lights. Stop by our retail facility for future arrivals from Australia, Makassar, Flores and other exotic locals.
Caribbean Hard Corals !!!AquaTouch is pleased to announce the availability of aquacultured hard corals from the Caribbean. There are no legally collected Atlantic hard corals in the aquarium trade. These corals are naturally settled larvae that are grown on aquaculture substrate and are typically 1 to 2 years old by the time they are sold. We are pleased to offer these unique species not found in the Indo-Pacific coral trade. In time we hope to expand the variety of corals available. Please check back to this page in the future for updates and new specimens. Manicina areolata (Linnaeus, 1758)
Family: Faviidae
