"It has been my great pleasure to know
Michael Janes and AquaTouch in Phoenix over several years. To
me, Michael and AquaTouch embody what is, can, and even should
be standard practices in our interest/trade. Their shop has
always been "neat and clean", well stocked, and excellently
staffed whenever I have visited. They practice strict
isolation/quarantine of all incoming marine livestock, formerly
on-site, and now at a separate facility, ensuring its rest and
health before offering it to their customers. Furthermore, I
applaud Michael and his teams ongoing efforts at researching,
and determining root disease/causes of aquatic maladies. On
visiting, you may note their microscopes and lab area. It is my
sincere wish that all earnest Local Fish Stores (LFS’s) would
adopt AquaTouch's practices.”

“It was a great experience and honor to have
visited and demonstrated at your store and thank you for your
warm hospitality. It was an eye opening experience for us to
see your research and quarantine facility and knowing a store
that put such extensive efforts into providing good quality live
stock. Your customers are lucky to have you!”

"I have visited quite a number of pet shops
across the country during the last 15 years or so.
Many are simply small stores where disinterested
employees sell industrial-sized bags of dog food, kitty litter,
and a few fish. AquaTouch is different, and has been since its
inception over a decade ago – it specializes in exotic aquatic
animals, supplies and does so in a professional and responsible
manner. Entry-level as well as advanced hobbyists will recognize
this during a visit to AquaTouch. The staff is dedicated (if not
passionate), their laboratory is a rarity among dealers, animal
selection is diverse (at least one species of legally imported
Caribbean coral!) , and livestock is quarantined in a special
facility. Co-Owner Michael Janes is a recognized soft coral
expert and speaker at national conferences such as IMAC and
MACNA. In my opinion, AquaTouch sets a standard approached by
only a handful of other stores in the nation."

"... I can confirm that it
is not a xeniid. It is most likely a Cladiella sp., but it might
be a Klyxum sp. They are close and it would require examination
of the sclerites to confirm. Best bet is to send a sample to
Michael Janes of AquaTouch. Your coral is probably the same
species shown in The Reef Aquarium vol 2 on page 198 bottom
photo, called Cladiella sp. in the caption."
