AN Aquarium Shop
Tokyo, Japan
This is a small (about 93 m2)
aquarium shop located on the top floor of the Matsuzakaya department
store in downtown Tokyo. Owner Murase Kazutaka has created a beautiful
store. They specialize in rare freshwater plants and fish from Asia,
Brazil, Indonesia and other locations from around the world. Stem plant
prices start at around $12 US. They also supply ADA products and DO
Aqua. The most impressive part of the store is a custom built 60P Cube
Garden Superior tank with the front and side panels made from one piece
of glass. This glass tank would sell for over $3000! It sits on one of
the new ADA glass stands and is an amazing set-up.

Our thanks to Murase Kazutaka for his generous hospitality during our
visit.
If you go:
AN Aquarium (also known as Aqua Gallery Ginza) is easy to locate. From
the Tokyo subway system take the Ginza station exit. Once outside look
for the tall department store named Matsuzakaya, about 1 block from the
station exit. The name is on a marquee oriented vertically on the side
of the department store. The directory inside lists a pet shop on the
top floor. Take the elevator to the top and you will exit into the
aquarium shop. Note, English is not spoken in the shop so it is best to
know at least a little Japanese.
