Meet Our Team
 Joe Martin,
Operations Manager
Joe joined AquaTouch in 2008 when he moved
to Phoenix from Colorado. He has an extensive aquatics background and is
strongly motivated by the hobby. Before coming to AquaTouch he
successfully managed an aquarium company in Durango. Joe has maintained a variety of
saltwater and freshwater over the years. He has also
designed many aquarium systems & displays. Check out one any of our
store displays to see Joe's artistic skills first hand.
 Donald
Marks, Staff Aquarist
Donald is a key member of our retail team and experienced aquarium hobbyist. he
currently keeps a 60 gallon reef aquarium and a 375 gallon marine fish
tank at home. His passion for marine life has lead him to pursue a
career in marine biology. He is currently a full time student at Arizona
State University.
Sandy Shoup, Laboratory Technician
Sandy has been a dedicated marine aquarist since 1999 and
currently maintains a 220 gallon mixed reef tank. She has been involved
in invertebrate zoology & coral biology projects with Dr. Ron Shimek and
Eric Borneman. Sandy has also been active on the national speakers
circuit with presentations at MACNA, IMAC, the Midwest Marine Conference
and marine aquarium clubs. Her work has also appeared in ReefKeeping.com
magazine. Sandy works at our Tempe, Arizona location as a quarantine
specialist and assists with research projects in our laboratory.
 Michael
Janes, Senior Aquatic Biologist
Michael has been a saltwater aquarium
hobbyist since 1994 and a professional aquarist with AquaTouch since
1997. He is a certified SCUBA diver, member of the International Society
for Reef Studies, and has published numerous articles in aquarium
magazines, books, and scientific journals. Michael has given lectures at
international conferences and studied coral reef fauna on research dives in
Palau, China, India, Thailand, Egypt, The Maldives, Malaysia, Israel,
Jordan, the Yucatan, and
Indonesia. Michael specializes in soft coral taxonomy and microanatomy.

 Erle
Hoke, CEO
Erle joined AquaTouch in 2004 after a 20+ year career in engineering. he
supervises the custom design and installation portion of our company.
Erle's engineering background has played an important roll in the recent
upgrades to our retail store. he was also a driving force behind the
construction of our quarantine facility located in Tempe, Arizona. In
addition to taking care of the company infrastructure Erle also assists
customers with their custom orders and any special needs they might
have.
