An addition to the AquaTouch Family

In September of 2006 we began developing expansion plans to better serve our customers. This included identifying the function of a new facility, site selection and development plans. A 1750 sq. ft. building was chosen conveniently located 5 minutes from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport.

Beginning in March of 2007 construction was started. This included extensive plumbing, electrical, and structural build-out. A 1200 gal/day RO/DI system was installed.  The first phase of operations started 6 months later, in August of 2007 with the processing of live rock and the use of our new quarantine facility.

Our state of the art quarantine facility occupies one third of the new building. It is comprised of 15 different water systems with a combined volume of over 3000 gallons. This is over double our previous quarantine capacity! We employ mechanical, biological and chemical filtration as well as UV sterilization for disease prevention.

Our husbandry staff regularly performs water analysis and system maintenance. Additionally, many protocols for receiving, acclimation, and prophylactic treatments are implemented to ease the transition of our fish to life in aquaria. The result is comfortable, well adjusted marine fish ready for commercial, public, or private display.

Another one third of this building is allocated to the curing and conditioning of live rock. We can process over 2000 lbs in seven different system at any one time. By expanding this part of our operation we are increasing the quantity and variety of live rock we can offer to our customers.

This facility also houses our food preparation station, an expanded laboratory which is used for disease identification, taxonomy, histology and stores our coral collection. We also have a reference library containing over 800 publications.

We are very grateful to our customers nationwide for supporting AquaTouch these past 10 years. You have made our growth possible. All of us at AquaTouch look forward to continuing to provide the exceptional quality and service you have come to expect.  Watch for additional changes, increased variety and upgrades at AquaTouch through the end of this year and into 2008.

THANK YOU!!!
